State of Texas

Go DIRect

DIR provides statewide leadership and oversight for management of government information and communications technology. DIR facilitates the state’s economic competitiveness through its ability to deliver quality information resources commodities and services at the lowest prices and best value for state and local government as well as the K-12 public and higher education systems.

Go DIRect

On April 27, 2009, InterAct announced that it is listed on the Texas Go DIRect statewide purchasing contract. The Go DIRect Program allows customers to purchase items directly from a DIR-contracted vendor.

Inclusion on Texas’ Go DIRect contract fully authorizes InterAct to offer InterAct CAD, InterAct GIS, the InterAct MissionMode crisis management system, and the InterActCourt court records management system directly to state and local agencies without the need to go through the cumbersome RFP process.

Who Can Purchase

Inclusion on Go DIRect also allows public safety agencies anywhere in the United States to purchase goods and services off the contract once a simple interlocal agreement is executed between the agency and DIR.

HGACBuy

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) is a regional council of governments operating under the laws of the State of Texas and governed by a board comprised of 35 elected officials from the 13 county region. The H-GAC Board awards all contracts, which can then be made available to local governments nationwide thru HGACBuy. The Texas Interlocal Cooperation Act permits joint participation by local governments, states, state agencies, and certain non-profit corporations. Most states have interlocal cooperation authority or other joint power provisions that allow participation in cooperative activities.

HGACBuy

As a unit of local government assisting other local governments, HGACBuy strives to make the governmental procurement process more efficient by establishing competitively priced contracts for goods and services, and providing the customer service necessary to help its members achieve their procurement goals. All contracts available to members of HGACBuy have been awarded by virtue of a public competitive procurement process compliant with state statutes.

Who Can Purchase

All units of local government, including non-profits providing governmental services, are eligible to join HGACBuy. HGACBuy uses mass circulation, minority emphasis print media, and internet services to post legal notices and bid solicitations. Therefore, posting of public notices to solicit bids and the formal competitive bid process are satisfied through HGACBuy procedures.
