An award-winning solution for improving officer safety and effectiveness is now available for InterAct Mobile users. The handheld wireless Scan & See™ barcode scanner system (from DataFetch LLC), which recently won the 2010 Cygnus Innovative Traffic Enforcement Solution Award, is fully integrated with InterAct Mobile .

Now an officer at a traffic stop can run a driver's license or VIN# query and get driver and vehicle alerts and other critical information without having to walk back to the squad car and leaving the vehicle and driver unattended.

The handheld Scan and See unit's embedded bar code scanner quickly and accurately reads a driver's license or automobile VIN# barcode in seconds – while the officer is standing at a stopped vehicle or interviewing drivers involved in an accident. Through a secure Bluetooth connection from as far away as 200 feet, an InterAct Mobile query is automatically and remotely triggered in the squad car without any additional user action. While still in the presence of the driver, the officer will automatically get an alert on a stolen vehicle or any other high-priority hit on the Scan & See display.

A complementary software application from Positive Access Corporation that works in conjunction with InterAct Mobile to enable a law enforcement or authorized traffic officer to swipe a magnetic stripe or scan the bar code on the back of a driver’s license and import that information directly into InterAct Mobile . Once the information is in InterAct Mobile , the user can run NCIC, Drivers License and other queries without re-typing the driver’s license data—saving officer time and improving the accuracy of the data capture.

Electronic Ticketing

InterAct offers customers a choice of the two leading electronic citation solutions – both integrated with InterAct Mobile – that enable law enforcement officers to issue a traffic citation from the mobile data computer in the patrol vehicle:

These solutions quickly pay for themselves:

improving the accuracy of citation data for later court disposition,
pulling relevant data from InterAct Mobile and the agency’s CAD,
and auto-populating fields into electronic citation form on the computer screen.

The traffic offender’s information is obtained utilizing the data returned from NCIC and motor vehicle queries through InterAct Mobile , and/or the information provided on the driver’s license (which can be captured with the EZ-License solution described above). With a compatible remote printer, a paper citation can be printed on-scene, reducing time and cost to the agency.

MTG with RadioRoam

Connectionware from Radio IP Software that lets a InterAct Mobile user connect from more than one available network. Together with InterAct Mobile 's capability to simultaneously support two or more heterogeneous networks, MTG allows the agency to take advantage of existing high-speed public communications networks or 802.11 hotspots, either to leverage the faster speeds of these systems or to serve as back-up to their primary radio network.
