Michael H. Forster, Director
Mr. Forster is a former managing director of the Internet Capital Group, headquartered in Wayne, PA. He has over 40 years of sales, marketing, and general management experience in the information technology industry, most recently as the CEO and Chairman of CommerceQuest, Inc., a private technology company located in Tampa, FL.
Mike began his career with IBM in 1964, rising through the ranks from sales representative to Division Vice President during his 2 decades with the company. In 1988, he became president and general manager of international operations at Prime/Computervision. He resided for 3 years in Munich, Germany, and his worldwide responsibilities included all of Europe, Asia, Canada, and South America. In April 1993, he became president and CEO of MicroDecisionware, a privately held company in Boulder, Colorado, specializing in enterprise middleware solutions. In April 1994, he completed the merger of MicroDecisionware with Sybase, Inc., remaining with Sybase as senior vice president of worldwide field operations.
In 1998, Mike joined the Internet Capital Group as a Managing Director and has served on numerous private company boards over the past 10 years.
Mike now resides in his home town of Louisville, MS, and is active in civic affairs in both his community and state. He is an avid pilot with nearly 2000 hours of time in the cockpit. He flies his own airplane and uses it extensively in both his consulting and philanthropic work.
