Computer Aided Dispatch

The InterAct Computer Aided Dispatch main screen contains four primary windows for call tracking or dispatching.

  • Attendant - universal window for active alerts and other emergency dispatch center communications
  • Units Available - resource allocation for all types of units
  • Assigned Units - resource management for units
  • System Monitor - essential operations

With CAD you can quickly view and manage resources, be alerted to new calls, and be reminded of critical periodic tasks, such as unit or personnel status checks. Our window design features ensure data is easily understood and managed – even under the most chaotic circumstances.

Additional Computer Aided Dispatch Features Allow You to Optimize Mission-Critical Performance:

  • Ability to auto list, color code, and flag all incidents based on priority and status order
  • Separate windows display available units, assigned units, alerts, and messages
  • Function keys speed the entry of frequently used commands
  • Efficient cursor movement, data placement, and data editing within screen give you one-click access to critical functions
  • Command Line functions can help dispatchers minimize mouse clicks and get a job done in a second (log a pursuit faster, swap units in route)
  • Automatic monitoring of events and units means you’ll always know the status of the responding units and their progress

Take advantage of additional time saving features when integrated with InterAct's dispatch GIS system, OdysseyGIS:

  • Master street address guide and geographic reference functions to quickly validate locations
  • Automatic vehicle location (AVL) enhances safety by tracking vehicles and mobile units
  • Automatic unit recommendations help the dispatcher by suggesting the best units to respond

Director of Customer Care
InterAct Public Safety Systems
In the summer of 1999 I was a customer of InterAct. Northampton County was coming off a really bad CAD system from another vender. Shortly after we went live on the InterAct system Hurricane Floyd come through. We had 10 positions of CAD and 4 Admin positions. We went from a normal call volume of 300 to 400 calls a day to 1900+ calls in 16 hours. We had ten 9-1-1 phone lines and 12 non emergency lines. As soon as you would hang up a line it was ringing again. The InterAct CAD software performed flawlessly. The previous vender’s software would not have made it. This has always stuck with me. It's why I believe in our software, and why I work here.
