Industry CommitmentAt InterAct, we view ourselves as more than just a vendor. We consider ourselves to be active partners in the public safety community. Whether it is by serving in leadership roles in national organizations like NENA or APCO, or by volunteering time with local affiliates in communities all across the country, our “Dream Team” of dedicated staff are helping to define public safety in America and around the globe. Many of our staff members have become involved in industry activities that have helped shape best practices in public safety. Active participation within the industry not only affords InterAct the opportunity to remain cognizant of the issues surrounding the industry, but it also allows us the chance to contribute to the strengthening of the industry as a whole.
The mission of the 9-1-1 Industry Alliance is to represent the emergency communications industry in the development of emergency technology infrastructure and policy for the good of public safety and the public it serves. The IJIS Institute is a national organization that brings together industry and government in an effort to improve national security and promote effective information sharing across all levels of the justice, public safety, and homeland security communities. InterAct is an Associate member of the Institute and fully endorses the goal of the IJIS Institute to promote public/private collaboration to support and advance justice system information sharing.
NENA’s Next Generation Partner Program (NGPP) is a collaborative effort between public and private stakeholders. It was created to anticipate the impact of emerging technologies on 9-1-1 services and provide an expert forum to support resolution of basic issues that, if unresolved, would block progress toward NG9-1-1(?). The ultimate goal of NENA’s Next Generation Partner Program is to ensure that everyone has access to emergency services anytime, anywhere, from any device. Bureau of Justice Statistics – National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) The objective of this program is to improve the quality of crime statistics in the United States by implementing the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). This program provides funding to States (in conjunction with units of Local government) and tribes that want to participate in the FBI's new approach to uniform crime reporting, NIBRS. InterAct is proud to comply with the requirements of NIBRS in its incident reporting applications. We continuously monitor the evolving requirements of the law enforcement community and strive to incorporate state and regional variations to NIBRS. Kevin Willett
Director 911Cares Since 911Cares' launch, we have seen a continued outpouring of help to victims of many other situations over the last four years. With these latest tragedies, we are experiencing an amazing response by many organizations. From NBC's '3 Wishes' show aiding a 9-1-1 dispatcher's family to the recent jam-packed, 53-foot Mayflower truck that delivered much-needed supplies, we are just amazed at the level of kindness people have displayed.
