For over twenty-five years, Art has played a leading role in the strategic planning and execution of Sales, Business Development and Marketing programs for high technology companies. He has successfully created, developed, marketed and sold innovative systems solutions and services that became market winners for some of the leading companies in technology.
Art began his career at Intel Corporation, where he established new markets for systems and software in both commercial and OEM sales and learned the essentials for creating successful go-to-market strategies. Later, he was instrumental in the early success of Network Equipment Technology (N.E.T.) and developed marketing alliances and partnerships that resulted in multi-million dollar sales to carriers and Fortune 100 companies, creation of a successful financial services subsidiary and a global field service organization.
At Adaptec, he headed up Worldwide Business Development and expanded their adapter business into storage and network solutions for VARs and OEMs into global markets.Previously, he was VP of North American Sales at Sync Research and was part of the team that led them to a highly successful IPO. His expertise in early-stage marketing and business development resulted in his helping to found Foglight Software, which was later acquired by Quest Software.
As VP of Business Development at WholeSecurity, which specialized in behavioral network security and was later acquired by Symantec Corporation, he built successful partnerships with Microsoft, VeriSign, eBay and Juniper Networks and also created a European channel program that became a key revenue generator for the company. At First Avenue Networks, he headed both Corporate and Business Development and built alliances with AT&T, Covad Networks and Time Warner Cable for wireless transport networks. He played a key role in the $1.5 Billion merger with FiberTower Corporation that resulted in 30% of the licensed broadband spectrum in the U.S. being joined into a single major transport network offering.
More recently, Art’s far-ranging experience in customer-facing marketing and business development programs has resulted in his consulting to companies in the establishment of their go-to-market strategies and tactics. He has worked in all phases of product planning, funding, marketing, channel creation and partnerships with both foreign and domestic technology companies to build marketing and sales success.
